Packing & Custom Crating in Denver

Damage almost never happens on the truck. It happens because a plate was packed flat instead of on edge. Packing is the cheapest insurance in the whole move.

Packing & Custom Crating crew at work in Denver

You can hire us for the whole house or for the one room you dread. A full pack usually runs the day before the move: two or three packers work room by room, labeling by destination and keeping a running list of what went into which box. By the time the truck arrives the next morning, everything is boxed, taped, and stacked where it can be loaded quickly.

Partial packs are more common and often smarter. Kitchens and garages are where the hours and the risk live, and they are the two rooms people underestimate most. Dishes go on edge in dish barrels with a layer of paper between each one; glasses go in cell dividers; stemware gets its own box and a label that actually says fragile in a place the person carrying it can read.

Custom crating covers the things a cardboard box cannot honestly protect. Framed art over a certain size, mirrors, marble and glass tabletops, TVs without the original carton, and the occasional guitar or piece of lab equipment. We build the crate to the piece, foam it, and mark the orientation on the outside so it never gets laid flat.

Materials come from the truck and are billed at cost: boxes, packing paper, bubble, tape, mattress bags, wardrobe cartons and TV boxes. Anything unopened at the end of the day comes off the invoice. If you want to pack yourself, ask for the materials-only drop and we will bring you a sensible count for the size of home you actually have.

Questions about packing & custom crating

How long does it take to pack a whole house?

A three-bedroom is usually one full day with three packers. A one-bedroom apartment is three to five hours with two. Kitchens and garages take the longest per square foot.

Do I have to buy your boxes?

No. Use your own if you have them. If you want ours, we bring them on the truck, bill only what gets opened, and take the flattened leftovers back.

Can you pack and move on the same day?

For a studio or a small one-bedroom, yes. Anything larger goes much better as a pack day followed by a move day — you save money on the moving hours and nothing is rushed.
